Bradley Cooper Shaves Off an Unusual Part of His Beard: See the Bold Look

Bradley Cooper is trying out a new look. The 49-year-old actor-director was spotted on Monday sporting an unconventional style with his facial hair. 

Cooper kept it casual as he walked around New York City, where he was snapped with wind-blown hair and a freshly groomed beard that featured a clean shaved patch right around his chin. In the shots, Cooper wears a button up shirt by Wax London with jeans and sneakers.

His facial hair appears well kempt on his cheeks, upper lip and below his chin, but is bare from his lower lip down to his chin. 

It is not clear whether the style is for a role or if he's simply trying something new. 

The star was previously photographed with a fully intact beard just days earlier, on Friday. 

As for Cooper's upcoming acting roles, the star has been tapped to play a reimagined version of Steve McQueen's classic Frank Bullitt character in Steven Spielberg's upcoming original Bullitt story, according to Deadline. The star's IMDb page also lists Is This Thing On? -- which he's directing and starring in -- as currently in production. Also according to Deadline, the film co-stars Will Arnett -- from a script he wrote with Mark Chappell -- though the plot details have not yet been revealed. 

When he's not on set, Cooper has been making time for some fun and enjoying live music in recent weeks. The actor and filmmaker recently joined Pearl Jam for a surprise duet of his A Star Is Born song, "Maybe It's Time," and a rousing rendition of Neil Young's "Rockin’ in the Free World" with Eddie Vedder at BottleRock in Napa Valley, California. Elsewhere at the music festival, he was seen dancing along to Stevie Nicks' set with Gigi Hadid. 

Cooper and Hadid were also together as they attended Taylor Swift's Eras Tour in Paris, France, along with the singer's boyfriend, Travis Kelce. 

A source told ET in February that the couple's relationship is "serious."

"They have already spoken about their future together and next steps," the source said at the time. "They are great at communicating with each other in a healthy, open, and honest way. They are excited about moving forward."

Another source told ET recently that the pair's friends and family "would love to see them get engaged soon, but also know that they are on their own path and timeline."

"Communication has always been key between the two of them and they are both open and honest with each other about their future," the source shared. "They are also both dedicated when it comes to their work commitments and projects, loved ones, and parenthood. They have similar goals, which makes it very easy for them to connect."

Cooper dated 38-year-old model Irina Shayk for four years until they announced their split in June 2019. They share a 7-year-old daughter, Lea De Seine, whom they welcomed in March 2017.
